    Giovanna Perrucci

    Associate Sustainability Manager
Main Role & Function at L&S Following a two-year period as a working student—during which she supported in developing climate trainings, sustainability strategies, and webinars, as well as calculating and verifying greenhouse emissions—Giovanna has transitioned into her current role as Associate Sustainability Manager. In this role, her primary focus is navigating the technical complexities of Carbon Footprinting and Greenhouse Gas Verifications. Giovanna works with multinational corporations to quantify and verify emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, ensuring that climate reporting is both rigorous and transparent. By bridging her technical background in chemical engineering with her practical experience in corporate climate action, Giovanna provides the data-driven insights necessary for companies to meet their targets. Education & Experience Giovanna brings a deep technical foundation to our team, holding a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Sustainability, both from the Technical University of Munich (TUM). During her studies, she attended optional classes regarding renewable energy systems, solar engineering. She also wrote a Semester's Thesis on the pathways necessary to achieve the climate goals of the German government, in which the chemical industry achieves net-zero emissions by the year of 2050. The main finding of this research was that bringing circularity into the chemical industry is indispensable to achieve these goals, in order to reduce Scope 3 emissions of chemicals. Following this, she focused on chemical recycling for her Master's Thesis, developing a complete mass balance for a new catalytic low-temperature chemical recycling technology developed by Radical Dot GmbH. The process allows the recycling of polyolefin-rich (mostly polyethylene and polypropylene), mixed plastic waste streams, which are not otherwise recycled today, into several valuable chemicals that can be used to produce new plastic products. This helps the development of a more sustainable future, bringing in circularity into a mostly fossil-based chemical industry. Her expertise spans Climate Impact, Renewable Energies, Carbon Footprinting, GHG Verifications, and Sustainable Chemicals Production.   Languages Giovanna speaks Portuguese, Spanish, German, English and Italian fluently and is currently developing her skills in Mandarin — to provide technical clarity and actionable insights to clients around the globe.
