Thoeun Kong

Main Role & Function at L&S Thoeun works as a Project Manager and as a Higg FEM Verifier & Trainer for Leadership & Sustainability. Thoeun is based in Cambodia. Education & Experience Thoeun has a master’s degree in Finance Management from the National University of Management in Cambodia and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Thoeun has more than 25 years of professional experience in the apparel and footwear industry with various functions, such as as a Higg FEM approved trainer, developer for EMS, in wastewater, chemical, energy & waste, and an assessor for SMETA, WRAP, BSCI, and ILO-BFC for private and industry sectors for different brands. Thoeun has worked for H&M for the last 10 years. He was responsible as the lead of social & environmental programs for Cambodia and for the internal validation across the supply chain of H&M. Moreover, Thoeun handled multiple tasks as either assessor, validator, or capacity developer. Additionally, Thoeun was an ambassador for the H&M Group‘s ambitions and standards working in strong cooperation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, such as ILO-BFC, and other brands. With more than 10 years in the industry, Thoeun worked with professional experts and stakeholders from GIZ, UNDP, UNIDO, WWF, NGOs, and the local government on environmental sustainability development strategies, waste recycling, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and WoodAI Ap for industry improvement.
