We are happy to announce that we are members of SAC and Textile Exchange! With our membership in the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), we are connected with more than 250 global brands, retailers and manufacturers as well as governments, non-profit environmental organizations and academic institutions in 36 different countries. All of them are increasingly committed to improving sustainability along the supply chain in the apparel, footwear, and textile industry.
We are a member of SAC since 2016.
Leadership & Sustainability shares a long-standing commitment to SAC as our CEO Karin Ekberg is a founding member of SAC and has co-led the creation and development of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition during her time at adidas.
We are very pleased to be a part of SAC and we are looking forward to our continued dedicated participation in the industry-wide effort in sustainability. Therefore, we are committing to further developments and expansion of use of the Higg Index Tools in the industry. We will do our best to fulfil SAC’s expectations. Our goal is to make an impactful contribution towards responsible industry actions and to drive increased sustainability through meaningful collaborations across the textile and apparel industry.
Leadership & Sustainability is in a position to support you with the tools in Higg Index, for example:

We want to help develop and empower Sustainability Leaders.
As SAC works on reducing the environmental and social impacts of products around the world, we share the vision of “a global consumer goods industry that gives more than it takes – to the planet and its people.”
We are adopting and supporting the mission of SAC to “transform business for exponential impact through groundbreaking tools, collaborative partnerships, and trusted leadership for industry sustainability.”
Through multi-stakeholder engagement, SAC is working towards leading the industry with a shared vision of sustainability. This vision is built around a common approach for measuring and evaluating apparel, footwear and textile product sustainability performance – the Higg Index Tools. These tools spotlight priorities for action and opportunities for technological innovation.
If your organization is not currently a member of SAC and is interested in accessing the Higg Tools, you may inquire here.
We are a proud member of Textile Exchange!
Leadership & Sustainability has joined Textile Exchange as a new member. A global non-profit organization that promotes sustainability in the textile value chain. Textile Exchange works closely with its members to drive industry transformation in preferred fibres, integrity, standards and responsible supply networks aiming at minimizing the negative environmental impact of the global textile industry.
Founded in 2002, Textile Exchange provides the knowledge and tools the industry needs to make significant improvements in three core areas: Fibre and Materials, Integrity and Standards, and Supply Network. They also identify and share best practices regarding farming, materials, processing, traceability and product end-of-life in order to reduce the textile industry’s impact on the world’s water, soil and air, and the human population.
Textile Exchange envisions a global textile industry that protects and restores the environment, while enhancing lives. By 2030 they aspire to guide the textile industry to reduce GHG emissions (CO2 equivalents) by 45% from a 2020 baseline.
Recognizing that we at Leadership & Sustainability have an important part to play in the larger ecosystem of stakeholders, Leadership & Sustainability commits to supporting the goal to make the textile industry a sustainable and responsible sector today and for future generations. That is why we are members of SAC and Textile Exchange!
Kind regards
Karin & the team
