Listen to our Webinar: Using Sustainability Strategy to Create Business Value

    By Karin Ekberg | Webinar | 0 comment | 17 January, 2016 | 0

If you missed our webinar on February 23rd about how sustainability strategy creates business value you can download the presentation here and listen to the recording here.

The question all business owners should ask themselves is: does the current sustainability strategy successfully facilitate momentum which perpetually advances the most impactful results? Ask yourself some important questions. Do you manage those sustainability aspects in your business that matter the most in creation of benefits that are sustainable? How do you manage risk and impact? Do you engage all functions in your organization? Do you have the inspiration and commitment to engage your employees in the sustainability areas where they most wish to be engaged in?

If you don’t have a sustainability strategy that fits your organization and creates business value of this kind, this webinar will definitely have some useful nuggets of wisdom for you. And even if you do, a good business owner or sustainability leader knows there’s always room for improvement.

    The Importance of Sustainability Leadership

This webinar is first in the series “Leaders in Sustainability”, and former Chief HR director of adidas and leadership coach Matthias Malessa will be joining us. He’ll bring the conversation to you, presenting with Karin Ekberg, a chief executive with Leadership & Sustainability. Together, they’ll discuss the creation of business value through a sustainability strategy that has been deeply researched and crafted. Sustainability leadership and organization is key to success in any business, and both Ekberg and Malessa are experts in such strategy, as evidenced by the international success of adidas and their own careers.

    Meet Matthias Malessa

Until June 2014, Matthias Malessa worked as the Chief Human Resource Officer, or CHRO, of adidas. His career started all the way back in 1987, after graduating with a degree in economics, as a management trainee with adidas. Eventually, he became a group controller of international status, which brought him to the adidas Group’s world headquarters, located in Herzogenaurach, Germany. Matthias would later work as Vice President of Financial Controlling in Hong Kong, and then as Country Manager in Bangkok, servicing Thailand and Vietnam. Returning to German headquarters in ’98, he continued to hold a number of high-profile leadership positions until his appointment as the CHRO. In 2014, Matthias left adidas and started his own business, Malessa Consulting. Using lessons learned around the world, Matthias provides organizational support allowing businesses to excel in things like employer attractiveness, authentic leadership, corporate health management, and more. Currently, Matthias gives regular lectures at a variety of different universities, and he even recently took a trip to the South Pole in order to communicate his successful strategies!

During the webinar, a number of important items will be directly explored, such as:

    • Exploring the need for a sustainability strategy

    • A cross-functional approach, and why that’s valuable
    • Specific details on how sustainability strategy and business value are linked
    • Proper methods of organizing and implementing strategies of sustainability
    • Effectively engaging employees
    • Factors that influence success.

Vetted Tips and Tricks of the Trade

Sustainability strategy and business value are deeply interrelated. The more sustainable a business is, the greater value it has. The two complement and increase one another continually. But part of such positive practices has to do not only with business value and sustainability, but also leadership and sustainability. Finding the strategic fix for your business model is a great way to ensure continual success.

Watch Matthias speak about Leadership and Sustainability as well as his trip to the South Pole.
