Like every year, this year at The OutDoor 2016 the global players from the outdoor market meet in Europe to set, discuss, and forecast trends for the upcoming season and to show the latest innovations in product and marketing to retailers and media.
The OutDoor is a leading trade fair that has developed into a global platform for the outdoor industry. This summer, the exciting event will be taking place from July 13th until July 16th at the Friedrichshafen Messe, located between the amazing scenery of the Alps and Lake Constance.
Each year, OutDoor is grabbing the attention of thousands of visitors with a versatile programme, including the OutDoor Industry Award, the OutDoor Conferences, the OutDoor Fashion Show, and the Tent City among many other events.
We are excited to announce that Leadership & Sustainability is part of the great programme of OutDoor 2016. Leadership & Sustainability will be holding two workshops on two important sustainability topics for the outdoor industry:
- On July 14th at 12 pm: “Develop the Business Case for your Sustainability Strategy”
- On July 15th at 3 pm: “Making Environmental Claims – Are You Bamboozling Your Customers?”
Below a brief overview of the workshops is included.
Workshop I: “Develop the Business Case for Your Sustainability Strategy”
On July 14th we will be holding our first workshop and discuss how to develop the business case for your sustainability strategy.
This how to and why workshop, will help you learn how to put a price – quantitative or qualitative – on your sustainability projects and how to build out the entire business case for sustainability.
Below are the business case categories we will talk about.
If you are a brand executive or sustainability practitioner and you wish to have a clearer view of the benefits and costs of your sustainability program, but also leverage it to another level of effectiveness and impact, the “Develop the Business Case for Your Sustainability Strategy” is the right workshop for you.
Join us and learn more about this hot sustainability topic through real business case examples at the OutDoor 2016 on July 14th, 12:00 – 13:00, Conference Center East, Room Berlin.

Workshop II: “Making Environmental Claims – Are You “Bamboozling” Your customers?”
Are you having doubts about the accuracy of your products’ environmental claims? Then join us on July 15th at our second workshop “Making Environmental Claims – Are You “Bamboozling” Your Customers?” and learn how to avoid the risk of making misleading environmental claims through key examples and suggested solutions.
Eco-friendly products are gaining in market popularity as consumers become more aware of realistic environmental protection options and the impact they can have on personal choice. Environmental communication guidelines need to be considered as the demand for green products grows.
Leadership & Sustainability will provide insights to the international environmental communication guidelines that can help you protect your company’s reputation and prevent unnecessary cost. Recently, poor labelling led to misleading environmental claims and marketing claims that cost major retailers like Bad Bath & Beyond, Nordstrom, and JC Penney a fortune.
Don’t miss out this opportunity to expand your knowledge about making accurate environmental claims at the OutDoor 2016 on July 15th, 15:00 – 16:00, Conference Center East, Room Berlin.
