The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) supports this day with a fundraising campaign.
The Earth Day has been celebrated annually on April 22 since 1970 and is intended to strengthen appreciation for the natural environment, to draw attention to environmental and climate protection, but also to encourage people to rethink their consumer behavior.
This year’s theme is “Invest in our Planet”!
About EOCA
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is an expanding group of businesses working within the European outdoor sector, to collectively raise money to put into vital conservation projects around the world.
EOCA’s vision is that the outdoor industry and the millions of people who enjoy the outdoors will actively work to protect nature and wild places. The association wants to show that the European outdoor industry is committed to putting something back into the environment, and all working together a real difference can be made.
EOCA’s Earth Day Campaign
EOCA is using the Earth Day for a week-long fundraising campaign to garner even more support for conservation projects. All members of the EOCA are invited to participate in this fundraiser, e.g. by donating a percentage of their profit they generate on the Earth Day. We are very happy to be one of them and to support EOCA in this campaign with a donation of 500€.
From April 20th to May 04th, a public vote will decide how the donations will be used!
Reduce your Environmental Impact
The textile industry plays a decisive role in reducing negative environmental impact and protecting our planet. Therefore, we would like to use EOCA’s campaign to explicitly draw attention to the responsibility of this industry.
A sustainable textile industry includes the way materials are grown or extracted, but also water consumption, the use of pesticides and chemicals, and how socially and environmentally responsible the manufacturing process is. It’s about how the textiles are processed, where they come from, how supply chains work and where fair jobs are created.
