Give it a listen! Podcast on Sustainability and How to Transform an Industry

    By Saskia Lössl | Blog | 0 comment | 29 September, 2020 | 2

The importance of sustainability in the textile industry and all other sectors is growing. In order to maintain a ‘license to operate’, it is crucial to act. The implementation of sustainability does not only enable risk minimization, but also enhances innovation and offers great opportunities.

If you are curious about how to implement sustainability and how to transform an industry, listen to the latest “Business of Collaboration” podcast episode by “collabwith” with our CEO Karin Ekberg.

Karin was interviewed by Jara Pascual, the founder of “collabwith”. The podcast takes the approach of encouraging collaboration and communication amongst business executives and professors to work together for a positive impact.

Learn more about the importance of innovation, the future of sustainability, our CEO’s professional path and get some exclusive advice on how to implement and improve your business’s sustainability strategy.

Karin shares plenty of tips with you in the podcast about where to start when implementing a new sustainability strategy:

    • Prioritize
    • Create a long term strategy
    • Define measurable goals
    • Integrate sustainability into the whole business
    • Communicate your sustainability practices

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) and their Higg Index can support you in doing that, as Karin explains:

“SAC has defined a transparency roadmap where brands, retailers and manufacturers can communicate publicly about their results with the Higg Index. The Higg Index measures their strategies at brand level , but also at facilities level their environmental programs and results.”

    • Over the past two decades, compliance-focused social and labor assessments have played an essential role in improving social and labor conditions in the global apparel and footwear supply chains. However, this has also led to a proliferation of different standards, codes and protocols. As a result, the Social and Labor Convergence Program (SLCP) has developed an assessment framework that brings together unique perspectives and promotes collaboration. What’s more, it has become the foundation of the SAC’s Facility Social and Labor Module (FSLM). As an official SLCP Verifier and Trainer Body, we would like to introduce the SLCP to you and offer a free webinar to you!
